THE Myanmar National Human Rights Commission helda ceremony to commemorate the 73rd International Human Rights Day under the COVID-19 rules and regulations yesterday morning in Yangon.

The ceremony was attended by Chairman of the Commission U Hla Myint, the Vice-Chairman, Commission members and officials. Chairman U Hla Myint read out themessage sent by Chairmanof the State AdministrationCouncil Prime Minister SeniorGeneral Min Aung Hlaing onthe occasion of the 73rd International Human Rights Day. Headdressed the ceremony andintroduced the new websiteof the Myanmar National Human Rights Commission,www.mnhrc.org.mm. Afterwards, the story of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (animation) was displayed.

 

Member of the Commis sion U Paw Lwin Sein clarified the distribution of the 10-year journey history book of the commission and the Chair, the Vice - Chair, and members of the Commission made a plan to distribute the book.

 

Afterwards, Commissionoffice staff who won prizes incompetitions such as poetrycompetition, essay competition, translation competitionsand quizzes were awarded. Atotal of 50 office staff of theCommission participated inthose competitions.

 

The ceremony was concluded after singing the Commission’s original anthem,“Human Rights for All”. Justas International Human Rights Day is celebrated around theworld on 10 December, Myanmar has been celebratingit annually since 2015 underthe auspices of the MyanmarNational Human Rights Commission.
