A meeting on Myanmar-China Bilateral Cooperation led by the Union minister for Investment and Foreign Economic Relations was held at the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Economic Relations in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday.

At the meeting, the Union minister highlighted the implementation of major bilateral cooperation projects aiming to ensure poverty reduction, infrastructure development, human resource development and cross-border trade promotion particularly for the agricultural and livestock product exports through efficient and effective cooperation in line with Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs), Agreements, and Exchange of Letters signed between Myanmar and China.

Moreover, he also urged the representatives to report timely on the implementation constraints of the projects and policy matters that needed to be coordinated between the two countries.

Then, Deputy Minister U Than Aung Kyaw for the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Economic Relations, discussed the matters relating to the implementation of bilateral cooperation projects.

After hearing the progress of reports from permanent secretaries and Directors-General of the executing agencies, the Union minister and deputy minister provided the necessary guidance for successful implementation of the projects and future cooperation.

The meeting was attended by the deputy minister for Investment and Foreign Economic Relations, permanent secretaries and directors-general from executing agencies. Representatives from the Mandalay Region Government Office and Yangon Region Government Office virtually attended.
