THE Forest Department under the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation adopts Community Monitoring and Reporting System (CMRS) to curb the illegal timber and forest products.

According to the data collected between 22 and 28 November, the department seized a total of 107.5482 tonnes of illegal timber – 48.10 tonnes of teak, 30.9278 tonnes of hardwood and 28.5204 tonnes of others in regions/states, including the Nay Pyi Taw Council Area and arrested seven suspects with seven vehicles, according to the department.
