HAIRMAN  of  the  State  Administration  Council  Prime  Minister  Senior  General  Min  Aung  Hlaing  conferred  Sasana  Nuggaha  titles  on recipient persons at Thabin Hall of the SAC Chairman Office yesterday afternoon.

Speaking  on  the  occasion,  the  Senior  General  said  members of the Sangha perform Ganthadhura  and  Vipassanadhura  for the propagation of Buddhism while  delivering  sermons  on  ways of prosperity in the world to  the  citizens  at  an  opportune  time. Buddhists make donations for meals,  robes,  monasteries  and  medicines  to  members  of  the Sangha. Meanwhile, the government confers Sasana Nuggaha titles to laypersons for their meritorious deeds.

“Sasana  Nuggaha”  means  significant donations to the Sasana  with  four  kinds  of  prerequisites. Meals and medical trust  funds are also set up for members  of  the  Sangha  residing  at  various monasteries, especially in border and hilly areas.

The  Senior  General  noted  that venerable members of the Sangha have given advice saying that fading out and flourishing of the Sasana depend on those ruling the countries. If the persons ruling  the  country  emphasize  the  propagation  of  Buddhism,  it  will  develop.  Otherwise, the  Sasana is sure to go down similar to flying of woodpeckers’ nature.

The  State  Administration  Council  together  with  citizens  will  place  emphasis  on  making  donations and other assistance to Buddhism. The Senior General expressed his firm belief that as the State Administration Council confers Sasana Nuggaha titles on  the  laypersons  as  part  of  honouring  the  deserved  persons  in  line  with  the  38  kinds  of auspiciousness.

The Senior General urged those title recipients for the perpetual  existence  of  Buddhism  from Myanmar to the world and for joining hands with venerable members  of  the  Sangha  from  the border and hilly areas with difficulties in their missionary works in addition to nuns to run monastic education schools and nunneries conveniently.

The  Senior  General  conferred Agga Maha Siri Sudhamma  Manijotadhara  titles  on  U  Aung Aung, U Hla Tun, U Than Win, U Li Qang Chen (a) U Lyo Ah  Pauk,  and  Vice-Chairman  of  the  State  Administration  Council Deputy Prime Minister Vice-Senior  General  Soe  Win  Agga  Maha  Siri  Sudhamma  Manijotadhara titles on Dr Hla Win Aung, U Soe Than Tun and U Zeya Thura Mon respectively.
