GRADUATION ceremony of arts and science degree and A.G.T.I. diploma course 18 and a ceremony to present job appointment letters were held at two designated sites of the Development of National Races (DNR) Degree College (Yangon) convocation hall yesterday in accordance with the COVID-19 health rules.
First, Union minister for Border Affairs Lt-Gen Tun Tun Naung talked about the four policies of ministry, free basic education system at 45 ethnic youth development training schools, free higher education services for those who complete the basic high school education at the University for the Development of the National Races of the Union and DNR Degree Colleges (Yangon, Sagaing), opening of 9 industrial training schools and 46 women’s vocational schools in order to create the job opportunities and improve the socio-economic status.
He then said the degree college (Yangon) has produced a total of 2,501 degree-holders – 498 arts degrees, 1,213 science degrees, 135 B.Tech and 655 engineer diplomas so far. Moreover, there are also 14 PhD holders, 65 M.A, 122 M.Sc., 326 B.Tech, 301 B.E and 15 M.E.
He then stressed the need to follow the Civil Service Laws and rules in serving the duties at ministries concerned and cooper ate in agriculture and livestock breeding sectors to ensure stable commodity prices.
The Union minister and Yangon Region Chief minister presented prizes to outstanding graduates. Then, representatives of 17 ministerial departments presented appointment letters to 213 graduates.
Afterwards, the Union minister cordially greeted the graduates and family members and then met with outstanding graduates and their family members in the convocation guest hall.
During the ceremony, a total of 213 ethnic people – 47 completed arts degrees, while the science degree by 78 and A.G.T.I degree by 88, respectively at 18th course of DNR Degree College (Yangon). On the evening of 25 November, the Union minister hosted a dinner in honour of the graduating students on behalf of the Chairman of State Administration Council Prime Minister.
