THE  Ministry  of  Commerce  is  making  efforts  to  ensure  people have access to the essential medical supplies that are critical to the COVID-19 prevention, control and treatment activities, including liquid oxygen and oxygen  cylinders,  by  arranging  continuous importation through trading  posts,  international  airports  and  seaports  with  the  Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

Anti-COVID-19 products  were imported by one company and transported by one vehicle

yesterday.

A total of 20 tonnes of liquid oxygen  carried  by  one  bowser,  1,401  empty  oxygen  cylinders,  nine  oxygen  plants,  and  six  tonnes of gloves were imported via  the  Myawady  trading  zone  and  Yangon  international  sea-ports, officials said.

One  bowser  transported  liquid oxygen to Yangon via the Myawady land border, and nine oxygen plants to Yangon via sea-ports, officials added.

Officials  from  the  relevant  departments  are  cooperating  to  facilitate  and  expedite  the  Standard Operating Procedures, including online registration for the import process.

It is reported that the Ministry of Commerce is coordinating with relevant departments, treatment of COVID-19, as well as  contact  persons  for  inquiries can be reached through the Ministry’s Website —www.com-merce.gov.mm.
