THE Government of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar has agreed to the appointment of Mr Antonito de Araújo as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste to the Republic of the Union of Myanmar in succession to HE Mr João Freitas de Câmara.

Mr Antonito de Araújo was born on 27 February 1964 in Dili, Timor-Leste. Mr Antonito de Araújo obtained a degree in International Relations at the Universidade da Paz (UNPAZ) in Dili, Timor-Leste. He joined the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Timor-Leste in 2007. He has served in various capacities at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of  Timor-Leste  and  Timor-Leste  Embassies  in  Lisbon,  Havana  and Tokyo. Currently, he is serving as Charge d’ Affaires at the Timor-Leste Embassy in Bandar Seri Begawan, Brunei Darussalam.

Mr. Antonito de Araújo is married with five children.
