THE Government of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar has agreed to the appointment of  Mr.  Vinay  Kumar  as  Ambassador  Extraordinary  and  Plenipotentiary  of  the  Republic  of  India  to  the  Republic  of  the  Union  of  Myanmar  in  succession  to  HE  Mr  Saurabh Kumar.

Mr. Vinay Kumar was born on 23 August 1969. He holds a Bachelor of Technology (Hons.) degree. He joined the Foreign Service of India in 1992. He served in various positions at Indian Missions in Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Canada, Poland, Iran, United States, Nepal and Afghanistan. At the Headquarters, he served as Joint Secretary of the East and South Asia Division from 2013 to 2015 and as Joint Secretary of the South and Nalanda Division from 2017 to 2018. He has been serving as Additional Secretary of the Ministry of External Affairs of India since 2020. He is married.
