THE 20th ASEAN Senior Law Officials Meeting (ASLOM) was held online yesterday.

Deputy Minister for Legal Affairs U San Lwin, in his ca[1]pacity as Deputy Attorney-General attended the meeting as a Chairperson of ASLOM, and the Myanmar delegation led by Director-General U Kyaw Kyaw Naing also joined the event together with the legal officers of ASEAN countries.

During the meeting, Deputy Minister and Deputy Attorney-General U San Lwin talked about the approved matters related to the legal assistance of SOM-MLAT and AMAG-MLAT in criminal cases while serving as the host country of the 19th AS[1]LOM, achievements of ASLOM, holding of coordination meeting on the transfer of suspects in April, participation of Myanmar in various ASEAN meetings, and he handed over the Chairmanship of the 20th ASLOM to Malaysia. The meeting focused on the progress on the agreement on the transfer of suspects in ASE[1]AN, ASEAN law officials, ASE[1]AN Legal Information Authority, ASEAN Government Law Directory, ASEAN trade law, transfer of suspects among ASEAN member countries, crime prevention and criminal justice, judicial cooperation and other legal assistance related matters among ASEAN member countries. It is reported that the meeting will be held until 26 October.
