THE  government  conducted  a  vaccination  programme  for  a  total  of  68,500  basic  education  students  aged  12  and  above  in  Yangon  Region  starting  from  17  October,  and  56,129  students  received their first jab till yesterday, according to the Ministry of Education.

Those who admitted schools for 2021-2022 academic year and attended the schools started receiving  the  Sinovac  vaccine  on  17 October, and 348 high school students  and  662  middle  school  students were vaccinated according to the report of 23 October.

During  the  one-week  vaccination,  a  total  of  15,210  high  school students and 40,919 middle school students of Yangon Region received the vaccines, according to  the  region  education  officer  report.

The  first  jabs  for  the  students aged 12 and above will be delivered from 17 October to 12 November while the second jabs will  be  from  13  November  to  10 

December with the permissions of  their  parents.
