A military aircraft carrying Sinopharm COVID-19 vaccines landed at Myitkyina Airport at 1:30 pm on 22 October as the COVID-19 vaccine is being given to people in Kachin State for targeted groups.

Member of the state government and Minister for Social Affairs U Win Ye Tun, Dr Tint Naing from the Department of Public Health and staff received 7,120 doses of Sinopharm COVID-19 vaccines for a total population of 35,600.

As of 20 October, a total of 317,448 people has been vaccinated for the first time and 135,737 people for the second time with donations from pri[1]vate organizations from the People’s Republic of China, according to the Public Health Department of Kachin State.
