DEPUTY Minister for Trans[1]port and Communications U Aung Kyaw Tun joined the virtual closing ceremony of the High-level Conference on COV[1]ID-19 (HLCC 2021) organized by the International Civil Aviation Organization-ICAO yesterday.

The HLCC 2021 was convened on 12 October and the closing ceremony was organized with five programmes yesterday. First, Mr Salvatore Sciacchitano, Chairman of ICAO made a remark and the ICAO officials reported on the safety of the aviation industry.

Then, Deputy Minister U Aung Kyaw Tun discussed the acceleration of drive for the launch of initial flights to world countries, short-term plans including the vaccination programmes for passengers and medium-term and long-term plans for the resilience and sustainable development of the aviation sector.

He also welcomed the in[1]troduction of safety measures and facilitation for international flights by settling the challenges caused by COVID-19 and highlighted the instructions and technical supports of ICAO, efforts being conducted in line with the motto: No country left behind and cooperation work with the member countries.

Then, the meeting ap[1]proved the Ministerial Declaration of High-level Conference on COVID-19.
