HEALTHCARE officials gave Sinopharm COVID-19 vaccines to people over the age of 18 who are currently taking temporary shelters at IDP camps in MraukU Township, MraukU District, Rakhine State for the prevention and effective treatment of COVID-19 respiratory disease. COVID-19 vaccine (Sinopharm) is currently available across Myanmar.

The vaccines will be given next in all states, districts and townships, urban and rural areas accordingly to the guidelines of the Ministry of Health, officials said. Vaccines were given systematically to the IDPs at new and old monasteries of Daikyi, and only those with normal conditions are vaccinated. Before the vaccination, healthcare staff and officials made records for the vaccinated people and gave general medical knowledge to the public.

Next, volunteers and healthcare workers measured the body temperature, blood pressure and oxygen level before the vaccination. As of yesterday morning, a total of 196 people have been vaccinated against the Sinopharm COVID-19 vaccine at the old Daikyi monastery and the new monastery separately.
