UNION MINISTER for Border Affairs Lt- Gen Tun Tun Naung visited the Theravada Central Buddhist Missionary Monastery in Putao Township together with Kachin State gov ernment officials, Minister for Security and Border Affairs Colonel Aung Kyi Lin on the morning of 8 October and donated the offertories to Sayadaw Baddhanta Visara.
Then, the Union Minister and officials went to Putao District Development Supervisory Office and District Head reported on the border area development programmes conducted with an allocated budget of the 2020-2021 financial year, further work plans and administrative schemes. The Union Minister instructed the necessary things and inspected the staff housing in the office compound.Then, the officials checked the lunch session of students at border youth development training centre (Putao), accommodation in line with COVID-19 health rules, training room, food storage, library and staff housing and also instructed to demolish the old and dangerous buildings and make plans to accept more students in coming academic years.
At noon, the Union Minister visited the women's vocational training school and inspected the dor mitories, training room and kitchen. He instructed to sell the sewing machines using an instalment system to the trainees, to be proficient in subjects and to provide the needed assistance to make a living after completing the training.
Then, the Union Minister met with the staff of Putao District Development Supervisory Office, headmasters, instructors and students of training schools and provided cash assistance to the staff while the school uniforms and stationeries to the students.
