COVID-19 vaccines were delivered to Sittway and Thandwe townships in Rakhine State by military plane yesterday morning.
Sinopharm COVID-19 vaccines, which are being stored at the expanded vaccine storage centre on Min Dhamma Road in Yangon, is being transported by Cold Chain Delivery Logistics trucks by military planes to various regions and states accordingly to the quality control standards.
On the morning of 7 October, 8,200 doses of the Sinopharm vaccines and 41,000 syringes were delivered to Thandwe and 11,000 doses of Sinopharm vaccines plus 59,000 syringes to Sittway were transported by military aircraft.
Authorities from each township accepted all the vaccines and they will be distributed to other townships in Rakhine State and Paletwa in Chin State, officials said.
The COVID-19 vaccines will be distributed to the public as soon as possible as per the target population groups.
