As a result, the price of a 108-pound bag of rice increased and ranged between K1,300 and K4,700 in two months.

The rice, an essential staple food, the price has slightly risen since last month. These prices have been rising steadily since May when monsoon paddy was started cultivating.

Moreover, the rice price usually rises during the monsoon season, and the year’s monsoon season also saw a record high of rice price as previous years.

The current pandemic control activities and natural disasters are also affecting the rice market, and the price possibly remains high for next month.
