FOR quick and easy import of anti-COVID-19 equipment, including liquid oxygen, oxygen gas, and oxygen concentrators, medicines and related medical equipment, the Ministry of Commerce allows is allowing regular import activities at the international airport, seaport and border trade posts, including Muse, Myawady, Chinshwehaw, Kampaiti and Kawthoung from 26 July to 1 August that are designated as public holidays.
Officials from the relevant departments are cooperating to facilitate and expedite the standard operating procedures including online registration for the import process during the long public holidays.
On 25 July, 2,671 oxygen concentrators, 5 oxygen Generators and 47,293 test kits from Yangon International Airport and 3 liquid oxygen bowsers containing 58 tonnes of oxygen, 16 tonnes of the liquid oxygen (cylinders), 2,785 home oxygen concentrators, 31 tonnes of masks from Muse, Myawady, Chinshwehaw, Kampaiti and Kawthoung land borders were successfully imported.
The aforementioned items were imported by 37 vehicles from 25 companies.
From 12 to 25 July, 533 tonnes of liquid oxygen, 405 tonnes of the liquid oxygen tank, 102 tonnes of oxygen gas, 30,877 home oxygen concentrators, 245,868 test kits, 655 tonnes of masks, 4 oxygen plants and 14 oxygen Generators have been allowed to be imported by 425 vehicles as officials are giving priority to disease control of the Covid-19.
The Ministry of Commerce is cooperating with relevant departments to facilitate the importation of Covid-19 disease prevention and control equipment by arranging direct contact with officials from relevant trade centres if assistance is needed.
