THE Ministry of Information had received approval from the Union government and announced the Printing and Publishing Enterprise Bylaw with Notification No. 48/2014 on 10 October 2014. All applications for licenses will be reviewed and issued in adherence to this bylaw.
During the meeting of the ministry’s management committee on 20 January 2020, applicants made between 2 December 2019 to 10 January 2020, including 4 new printing businesses, 1 new newspaper, a journal and two magazine businesses for publishing, and 30 for general purposes, to a total of 34, and 11 news agencies were all approved for licenses.
Since the announcement of the bylaw on 10 October 2014, the ministry has issued licenses to 1,616 printing businesses, 2,794 publishing businesses and 272 news agencies, to a total of 4,682 entities, so far.
