AFTER the nationwide reopening of schools since 1 June, students are returning to classrooms and studying in peace, and schools continue to accept the application for the 2021-2022 academic year in Nay Pyi Taw.

Many applicants have enrolled during the enrolment week to attend high schools, middle schools, and primary schools in Nay Pyi Taw Council Area. Schools are still open of applications of students who have not yet enrolled due to various reasons, Headmaster U Win Khine of the Basic Education Middle School (3), Nay Pyi Taw said.

“Our school had a 69% attendance rate as of 1 June, and we also continue to accept enrolment for students during the school opening hours. It is the student’s right to attend school,” he added.

 The school accepted 34 new students yesterday, and a total of 530 students at various level attended the schools in two shifts.

The Headmistress incharge of the No (6) Basic Education High School said, “The enrolment rate of our school is about 80%, and we continue to accept new applications.”

Due to cooperation among the Government, ward/village administration bodies and parents, school reopening was smooth with the arrangement of school buses and classrooms in line with the COVID-19 guidelines set by the Ministry of Health and Sports.

Students are provided with textbooks, learning materials, and COVID-19 preventive gears by the Government. Myanmar Police Force, township administration bodies, and community-based security groups provide security for the safety of students and teachers at schools.
