MYANMAR National Airlines (MNA) scheduled to resume its domestic flights on 16 December, in compliance with health guidelines issued by the Ministry of Health and Sports, MNA stated.
The Ministry of Transport and Communications has ordered a halt to domestic airlines until 15 December 2020 in response to local transmission of COVID-19 in Nay Pyi Taw Council, the regions and states across the country.
According to the guidance of the National-Level Central Committee on Prevention, Control and Treatment of Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19), the Ministry of Transport and Communications notified the Department of Civil Aviation of the reopening of domestic flights in line with Standard Operating Procedure starting from 16 December 2020.
Therefore, the Department informed the airlines to prepare for necessary measures to reopen the domestic flights be ginning from 16 December and ensure the cabin crew, airport staff and passengers abide by the health guidelines and SOPs.
The domestic airlines such as MNA, Myanmar Airways International, Air KBZ, Shwe Myanmar and Mann Yadanarpon Airlines will re-operate their domestic routes Yangon, Sittway, Kyaukpyu, Thandwe, An, Mandalay, Kengtung, Tachilek, Heho, Dawei, Myeik, Kawthoung, Myitkyina, Putao, Kalay, Loikaw and Nay Pyi Taw will resume starting from 16 December 2020 and Air Thanlwin will fly again starting from 30 December, the Department of Civil Aviation stated.
