THE National Red Cross Youth Forum is being held at the Rose Garden Hotel in Yangon for three days, from 31 July to 2 August, according to the Myanmar Red Cross Society (MRCS).
The forum is jointly organized by the MRCS, the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC), and the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC). The first National Red Cross Youth Forum, which was planned over the past three years, has brought together 50 Red Cross youth leaders from 15 states and regions across the country.
Opening remarks were delivered by Professor Dr Myo Nyunt, President of the MRCS; Ms Nadia Khoury, Country Representative of the IFRC in Myanmar; and Mr Xavier Collard de Macquerh, Head of Programmes and Prevention at the ICRC. The opening ceremony was attended by the MRCS President, officials from the MRCS, the IFRC, the ICRC, and partner National Red Cross Societies, as well as Red Cross youth leaders from the 15 states and regions across the country.
