The two-day UMTA Travel Fair 2026 opened at Yangon’s Sedona Hotel on Saturday, featuring more than 70 exhibition booths from over 20 countries.
Under the supervision of the Ministry of Hotels, Tourism and Culture and supported by the Myanmar Tourism Federation and brotherhood organizations, the Union of Myanmar Travel Association (UMTA) has hosted the event from 13 to 14 June.
“More than 50 local companies have participated in the event, along with tourism booths by Malaysia and Nepal, and travel agencies and tour operators from 20 countries such as France, Slovakia, Romania, Spain, Malaysia and Indonesia,” said UMTA general secretary Daw May Thet Lwin.
It aims to boost the domestic and overseas travel network, enhance the development of Myanmar’s tourism industry, encourage more arrivals of foreign tourists and expand the network with international travel markets.
It is not only a normal exhibition but also includes opportunities for B2B networking with local and overseas travel companies and tourism boards. It has also offered opportunities to meet international tourism boards such as Malaysia, Nepal, Korea and Russia and build partnerships with new buyers and sellers from different countries like France, Spain, Slovakia, Romania, India and Indonesia. It has also provided a chance to have business discussions with Myanmar’s well-known agencies such as Adventure Myanmar, APT and Asia Golden Mines.
