Union Minister for Information U Htein Linn, accompanied by the Yangon Region Minister for Information, Relief and Religious Affairs, inspected the state-owned newspaper houses and MRTV in Yangon yesterday.
On arrival at the Myanma Alinn daily in Bahan Township, the Union minister observed the office structure, CTP (Computer to Plate, printing machines and staff housing, and he also inspected the printing machine of the Kyemon daily in Botahtaung Township.
On arrival at the MRTV on Pyay Road, he watched the recording to social and economic programme, life and arts programme at Studio 1, filming of Shining Star children’s programme in Studio 2, news production activities in the News Studio, practice session of modern music band in Studio D, singing practice by staff accompanied by the Myanmar Orchestra of MRTV in the Master Room of the Radio Building, rehearsals by the national symphony orchestra in Studio B, and audio recording for a radio drama in Studio C.
The Union minister also met the staff at Studio A of MRTV, and highlighted the need to release information and conduct educating programme for the people to be able to understand the policies and activities of the government, as the ministry is a focal one for the country. He continued that entertainment should also be added in the arts sector, and agricultural-related information should also be broadcast in media way as the country is an agricultural country. He also urged trying to be a standard media for being a state-owned media. After the meeting, the Union minister presented cash prizes to the staff. — MNA/KTZH
