The Consulate-General of the People’s Republic of China in Mandalay has donated solar lights and solar street lamps at a ceremony held at the Zhou Enlai prayer hall at the Shwezigon Pagoda.

Officials said the donation was part of ongoing support for local development, with 300 solar lamp-posts also extended to PyinOoLwin, Meiktila and NyaungU.

The handover ceremony saw consulate officials and representatives of the Shwezigon Pagoda Board of Trustees, who received the equipment and expressed thanks.
