President of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar U Min Aung Hlaing inspected progress on the construction of the Nay Pyi Taw Gate and the Union Honorary Beikman, as well as ongoing renovation works on earthquake-damaged structures.
President of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar U Min Aung Hlaing, accompanied by Vice-President U Nyo Saw, Union Ministers U Khin Maung Yi, U Myo Thant and U Hsan Oo, Nay Pyi Taw Council Chairman U Kan Myint Than and officials, inspected efforts to develop the Union Territory Nay Pyi Taw, meeting the city’s characteristics and further work processes yesterday morning.
At the Myanma Gems Museum (Nay Pyi Taw), which had faced loss and damage caused by the Mandalay earthquake, the President inspected reconstruction and renovation works of the building in phases with resilience to earthquake impacts to some extent, in pursuit of the recommendations and criteria set by the Myanmar Engineering Council and gave necessary guidance to officials.
He also gave guidance on the cleanliness and beautification of the premises of the museum with good drainage facilities.
On arrival at the Maniyadana Jade Hall and the Jade Park (Nay Pyi Taw), the President observed the maintenance of the structures and stressed the need to carry out necessary repairs, interior and exterior of the jade hall and the upgrade for the park to meet the set standards.
The President viewed around the cleanliness and beautification tasks along the Razathingaha Road and around the Thabyaygon roundabout, meeting the city’s characteristics.
At the construction site of the Naypyitaw Gate and the park, the Union Minister for Construction reported to the President on the progress of construction tasks and plans.
In response, the President said that it is necessary to systematically calculate the construction of the gate in line with the Myanmar culture and supervise the project to be a systematic work process.
He stressed the need to manage the proper drainage facilities at new detours. The President underlined that development committees have to emphasize cleanliness, beautification and greening of the Union Territory Nay Pyi Taw. He urged members of the Nay Pyi Taw Development Committee to strive for the development of urban areas with energetic efforts.
In visiting the Nay Pyi Taw square, the President gave guidance to officials to build statues of the prominent figures of Myanmar’s history around the square, install reliefs made of marble stones and construct buildings suitable for the city’s characteristics.
At the Union Honorary Beikman construction site, the President heard reports by the Union Minister for Construction on the progress of construction tasks, the proposed 3D designs for the building, and plans to grow flowery plants and trees around the Beikman building.
In his response to the report, the President gave guidance, saying that the statues of prominent persons who strived for the perpetuation and existence of the Union will be carved and kept in the Beikman building. The Beikman and infrastructure must be built with the works of Myanmar cultures and modern architectural works in a proper ratio. He underscored that every green tree and flowery plant must be cultivated for greening and beautifying the Beikman area.
The President viewed round the construction project site of the Union Honorary Beikman and gave necessary guidance to officials.
