Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services General Ye Win Oo met Tatmadaw members and families of Kalaw Station at the local battalion yesterday morning.
Speaking on the occasion, the General said that Tatmadaw is currently conducting operations in cooperation with the people to eliminate and suppress terrorists who have been temporarily exerting control and abusing civilians in the Falam area of Chin State, and are also carrying out reconstruction activities in those regions. Similarly, Tatmadaw has also regained control and reopened key communication routes, including the Myawady-Thingan-nyinaung-Kawkareik road and the Mandalay-Madaya-Thabeikkyin-Tagaung-Htigyaing-Katha-Indaw-Mawlu-Mohnyin-Mogaung-Myitkyina route. In addition, efforts are being made to repair roads and bridges that were destroyed by terrorist insurgents.
Residents have warmly and enthusiastically welcomed Tatmadaw’s effective military operations, while Tatmadaw is also gaining the trust and reliance of the public. Those who have demonstrated exceptional performance and outstanding bravery in battles for the nation, the people, and Tatmadaw are being duly recognized and honoured.
Only when combat capability and power are strong can fighting be successfully won. Hence, each individual must continuously train to develop their skills. The State and Tatmadaw are providing necessary support and implementation measures to enhance combat strength.
In order to maintain good unity within the unit, it is necessary to initiate sound vertical relations between superiors and subordinates. Building unity within the unit is essentially building strength, and it contributes to the development of military capability.
As Kalaw is a region with a pleasant climate and favourable natural conditions, agricultural and livestock activities can be successfully carried out there. Since agriculture and livestock farming are practical activities that yield tangible benefits, priority should be given to both unit-owned and small-scale farming and livestock activities.
People’s military servants are bravely and faithfully carrying out the assigned duties in national defence and security responsibilities. Those who serve with sacrifice and dedication are being awarded promotions and decorations for courage and merit. Similarly, war veterans, who serve as reserve forces of Tatmadaw, are cooperating with active personnel and responsibly fulfilling security duties whenever required for the nation. Therefore, it is necessary to fulfil the needs of their family members, including living conditions, food, healthcare, and education.
The General coordinated the reports of Tatmadaw members and families with officials.
After the meeting, the General and his wife presented foodstuffs for Tatmadaw members and families and cash awards to the maternal and child welfare associations through officials.
Also, present at the meeting were Daw Nilar, the wife of the General, Commander-in-Chief (Navy) Admiral Htein Win and his wife, Commander-in-Chief (Air) Lt-Gen Tun Win and his wife, senior Tatmadaw officers from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief and their wives, the commander of Eastern Command and officials.
After the meeting, the General and the party inspected Nanthida’s agriculture and livestock integrated farms of the Eastern Command. The commander reported to the General on the progress in operating agriculture and livestock breeding farms. The General instructed officials to carry out agriculture and livestock farming activities with momentum to initiate the welfare measures for Tatmadaw members and families, and sell surplus products to the departmental personnel and people at fair prices.
The Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services inspected the agricultural and livestock activities at the integrated farms and attended to the needs.
