A total of 96 Grade-9 outstanding students currently staying at the Outstanding Student Camp in PyinOoLwin Township, Mandalay Region, were led by the Mandalay Region Education Officer and supervising teachers.
They departed at 7 am yesterday to visit the Gokteik Viaduct, a landmark located in Nawnghkio Township near PyinOoLwin Township.
Students scheduled for a study tour to the Gokteik Viaduct were welcomed at PyinOoLwin Railway Station by the Deputy Minister for Transport, the Director-General of the Department of Meteorology and Hydrology, and other officials.
The Gokteik Viaduct is located on the Mandalay-Lashio railway section near PyinOoLwin Township, about seven miles from Nawnghkio Station. It is a popular scenic attraction for both domestic and international tourists, offering impressive views of the landscapes along the route.
Students observed the Gokteik Viaduct with great interest and took commemorative photographs. They then departed from Gokteik Station for PyinOoLwin Station and returned to the Shwe Nan Htike Hotel, where they were staying.
