ACCORDING to the Myanmar Police Force, a total of 77 kilogrammes of heroin and four million stimulant tablets, valued at more than K9 billion, were seized in Kalay Township and Pyigyidagun Township.
A combined team, including members of the Drug Enforcement Division, searched a Nissan Condor driven by Thet Paing Soe, accompanied by Zaw Htike, and a Golden truck driven by Myo Ye Naing, accompanied by Kyaw Lin, at the entrance to Kalay at 10:30 am on 12 April. During the search, authorities confiscated 48.4 kilogrammes of heroin.
Similarly, police searched another Nissan Condor driven by Naing Lin Zaw, accompanied by Nay Lin Oo (aka) Say Sayar, on the Industrial Zone Road in Kalay and seized 28.6 kilogrammes of heroin.
According to the investigation, police arrested Nyunt Tin, who was to receive the drugs, at the entrance to Kalay at 2 pm on the same day. Police also arrested Naing Win (aka) Yokso, who allegedly instructed the transport of the drugs from Lashio to Kalay, on the Pyay-Aunglan Road in Pyay Township at 6 pm while travelling in a Toyota Hilux.
In addition, police arrested Ba Gyan, who was allegedly involved in the drug transportation, at a house in Singaing Township at 2 pm on 30 April.
Based on information obtained during the investigation, police seized four million stimulant tablets from a Nissan Condor in Pyigyidagun Township.
Legal action has been taken against the suspects, and investigations are ongoing to apprehend other individuals involved in the case.
