Yesterday morning, on behalf of Chairman of the State Security and Peace Commission and Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing and his wife Daw Kyu Kyu Hla, State Security and Peace Commission Vice-Chairman and Defence Services Deputy Commander-in-Chief Vice-Senior General Soe Win and his wife Daw Than Than Nwe visited and paid their respects to retired senior Tatmadaw officers and their wives, who were temporarily staying at Bayintnaung Villa in Nay Pyi Taw to attend the 81st Anniversary of Armed Forces Day parade on 27 March 2026.
During the meeting, Vice-Senior General Soe Win and his wife personally greeted the retired senior Tatmadaw officers and their wives, enquired warmly about their health and social needs, and coordinated efforts to address those needs.
Vice-Senior General Soe Win also expressed his gratitude to those attending the Armed Forces Day parade, and discussed Tatmadaw’s efforts to preserve its good traditions, strengthen its capabilities, and carry out important work to ensure national peace and stability. The retired senior Tatmadaw officers expressed their pride and joy at being able to attend the Armed Forces Day parade, and conveyed their gratitude for the Tatmadaw’s excellent traditions of caring for and supporting them like parents and mentors, as well as offering other words of advice.
