As the 2025-2026 academic year matriculation examination, along with the industrial, agricultural and livestock matriculation examinations, continued nationwide yesterday from 9 am to 12 noon, students sat Biology and Economics, as well as Industrial, Agricultural and Livestock subjects, in a balmy manner.

On the final day of the matriculation examination, students sat for Biology and Economics at 111 examination centres across 45 townships in 14 districts of Yangon Region. Meanwhile, 402 candidates – 244 males and 158 females – taking the industrial, agricultural and livestock matriculation examinations sat Carpentry and Woodworking, Industrial Electric Motor Control, and Machine Cutting Technology under the Mechanical subject; Social Sciences under the Agricultural subject; and Beef Cattle Breeding under the Livestock subject at four examination centres.

At the examination centre in Insein Central Prison, 36 candidates, including 33 males and three females, sat the examination. In addition, seven candidates took the examination at Mingaladon Hospital, Thingangyun Hospital, Dagon (North) Hospital, North Okkalapa Hospital, Bahan Hospital and Lanmadaw Hospital.

Traffic police and relevant officials, together with health officers from respective townships, members of the Red Cross, and the fire brigade, provided security and assistance throughout the examination period to ensure smooth travel and peace of mind for students in Yangon Region.

The remaining subjects – drawing of civil in industrial subject, Introduction to Basic Programmes, and mechanical drawing – will be taken on 18 March by candidates sitting the industrial, agricultural and livestock matriculation examinations.
