According to an announcement by the Myanma Port Authority (MPA), 60 container ships are scheduled to arrive at Yangon Port during the month of February.

Scheduled arrivals by Shipping Line are : 11 ships (M/S Cosco Shipping Line), eight ships (M/S SITC Container Line), seven ships (M/S CMA CGM ASIA Line), six ships (M/S ONE Line), five ships each (M/S Ti2 Logistics, Samudera Shipping, and Maersk A/S), four ships (M/S MSC Line), three ships each (M/S Evergreen ASIA and RCL Lines), two ships (M/S BLPL Shipping Line) and one ship (M/S Land and Sea).

The MPA informed exporters and importers that these schedules have been expanded to boost national export and meet domestic demand for imports, and any further expansions to the schedule will be reported in real-time.

According to a statement issued on 22 June, 2024, the MPA developed the Kings Bank Channel that allows vessels to enter the Yangon inner port day or night while continuous dredging and maintenance have enabled the port to accommodate larger vessels. On 22 June, the MV SITC Zhaoming operated by Hong Kong-based SITC Shipping Line, with LOA 185.99 metres, beam 35.25 metres, GRT 29,232 tonnes, and a capacity of 2,698 TEUs, docked at the Asia World Port Terminal (AWPT), being recorded as the largest container ship to ever dock at the terminal.

A total of sixty-three container ships called at Yangon Port during January, according to the MPA.
