A ceremony to offer a congratulatory message sent by Acting President of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar and State Security and Peace Commission Chairman Senior General Thadoe Maha Thray Sithu Thadoe Thiri Thudhamma Min Aung Hlaing to the 18th recipient Sayadaw of Tipitakadhara Tipitakakovida title in the 78th Tipitakadhara Tipitakakovida Selection Examination was held at the Tipitaka Maha Gandawin Nikaya Monastery in Dagon Myothit (East) Township in Yangon Region yesterday afternoon.

Sayadaw Bhaddanta Viccittasara has secured the title in the 78th Tipitakadhara Tipitakakovida Selection Examination.

The ceremony was attended by Union Minister for Religious Affairs and Culture U Tin Oo Lwin, Yangon Region Chief Minister U Soe Thein, regional ministers, the director-general of the Religious Affairs Department and officials.

The Union minister read out and offered a congratulatory message sent by Acting President of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar and State Security and Peace Commission Chairman Senior General Thadoe Maha Thray Sithu Thadoe Thiri Thudhamma Min Aung Hlaing to Tipitakadhara Tipitakakovida title winner Sayadaw Bhaddanta Viccittasara.

The Union minister and the chief minister donated offerings and cash to Sayadaws, including the title recipient Sayadaw.
