Union Minister for Information U Maung Maung Ohn, who also serves as Chairman of the Working Committee on Information and Development of a Resilient and Strong Social Community, departed from Nay Pyi Taw yesterday morning together with film and music artistes to perform for residents of Shan State (North) and arrived in Kyaukme Township in the evening.

The Union minister and his team were warmly welcomed by residents and service personnel at the entrance to Kyaukme, where they took commemorative photographs with the artistes.

A meeting was then held at the Kyaukme Township Hall to discuss the Information and Development of a Resilient and Strong Social Community, during which the video clip “Moving Forward to the Goal” was shown.

Next, the Union minister delivered an address at the meeting.

Afterwards, the Union minister presented Buddha images, 30 sets of MRTV DTH satellite systems and accessories, and 20 sets of MRTV DVB-T2 set-top boxes, which were received by the Kyaukme District administrator.

The entertainment programme continued with performances by film stars Su Pan Htwa, Pwint, Saung Yoon San, and Sithu Win; actors and singers Han Htoo Zhan, Za Zhan Han Thar, and Than Tha Moe Theint; and singers Sitthway, Htet Inzali, Poe Phyu Phyu, Nwe Oo Thakhin, and MRTV singers Tra Ru Aung, Saw Daniel, Saw Raster, One Kay Zin, Phu Akri Saung, Myat Su Chel, Ingyin Naing Oo, May Thu Myo, La Wun May, and Khatta. Locals also joined the programme and cheered enthusiastically.
