The government of Myanmar manages the combined team comprising security forces, administrative bodies and local authorities to raid illegal buildings in Shwe Kokko and KK Park areas where telecom fraud and online gambling activities are operated, and systematically dismantle the confiscated materials and illegal buildings used in the online scams and gambling activities.
Yesterday, the authorities demolished 17 illegal buildings in Section 3, and a total of 398 buildings out of 635 illegal buildings have so far been demolished in the KK Park area.

Moreover, authorities deported 54 Indonesians and two Kazakhstanis, totalling 56, through the Myanmar-Thailand Friendship Bridge II yesterday.
The combined team started searching operations in Myawady and its vicinity area starting 8 December, and found further 15 illegal buildings used for online gambling in No 5 Ward of Myawady yesterday, and arrested 225 Chinese nationals, 83 Vietnamese, nine Malaysians, 39 Kenyans, 11 Ethiopians, 12 Indonesians, 20 Ugandans, 17 Nepalis, four Indians, 77 Filipinos, three Sierra Leoneans, 10 Thais, two from Chinese Taipei, one from Malagasy, one Togolese and two Equatorial Guineans, totalling 516 individuals, together with 550 computers from one four-storey building and one six-storey building out of these 15 buildings.

To prevent future reuse of the materials in online scams and gambling activities in KK Park and Shwe Kokko areas, the seized materials were incinerated systematically.
The government considers the eradication of telecom fraud and online gambling crimes as a national responsibility and, to ensure that such activities can no longer operate within Myanmar, will continue its efforts in coordination not only with domestic forces but also with the governments of neighbouring countries.
