Union Minister for Commerce U Chit Swe received a delegation led by Mr Sergey Shatirov, Honorary Consul of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar in Krasnogorsk, a Supervisory Board Member of the Roscongress Foundation, and Coordinator of South-East Asia Projects for the RC-Investments Fund, at the Ministry’s meeting hall in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday.

During the meeting, both sides discussed ways to increase bilateral trade by providing greater market access in Russia for Myanmar’s main exports, including agricultural and marine products. They also explored the possibility of exporting Russian fertilizers to Myanmar, holding trade fairs to strengthen business ties and showcase products, establishing trade centres between the two countries, importing equipment required for a natural fertilizer factory to be built in the Nay Pyi Taw Council Area, and cooperating in broader economic and trade sectors.

The meeting was attended by Deputy Minister U Min Min, the permanent secretary, directors-general, and representatives from the Roscongress Investment Fund.
