Union Minister for Information U Maung Maung Ohn, accompanied by Shan State Chief Minister U Aung Aung, attended a ceremony to launch the “Developing Libraries and Raising Reading Habits” campaign at Danu Self-Administered Zone held at BEHS (Kyothet) in Pindaya township yesterday.
In his opening speech, the Union minister highlighted his ongoing work plans and instructions of the Head of the State to promote the rate of educated persons, reading habits and libraries. He continued that the youths are prioritized as they are the leaders for the future, and the youths also should learn carefully, as the Danu Self-Administered Zone is peaceful and receiving sector-wise development.
The Union minister presented 50 MRTV DTH receivers for the Danu Self-Administered Zone and books and publications for the libraries.
He also drew lots together with the Shan State chief minister and handed over 10 MRTV DTH receivers to the winners.
The chief minister donated K3 million for the zone and books and publications for the libraries, and the Danu Self-Administered Zone Leading Body Chairman donated over K4.8 million and Forever Company K2.5 million.
The Union minister and party inspected the competitions, displayed photos and books at the event.
The Union minister also proceeded to the construction site of the Studio Complex of Forever Yaywadi Company near Pindaya and heard the reports made by the officials of the company. After hearing the reports, the Union Minister said the government manages to promote the movie industry, and the fundamental factors in the filming processes play a key role. As it is the very first Studio Complex in the movie industry, it also supports the tourism industry. He urged all to produce quality movies that ensure relaxation and bring benefits to the people.
The Union minister and party inspected the Studio Complex compound, the collection of ancient vehicles and the ongoing work plans.
They watched the filming processes at Studio Complex and cordially greeted the artistes on the same evening.
