THE authorities detained 265 foreign suspects who illegally entered Myanmar through border routes from Thailand and some neighbouring countries and conducted online gambling and telecom fraud in Myawady-Shwe Kokko of Kayin State, and verified 200 suspects on 19 November. Similarly, another 405 more undocumented foreigners were also detained, and 200 suspects were verified on 20 November, and a total of 1,016 suspects have been uncovered to date.
These 1,016 foreign suspects were detained at the building of Lonhtinwun of Shwe Kokkomyaing Village of Pulwepu Village-tract in Myawady Township, and the officials collected their personal data to ensure the quick transfer to their respective countries.
Kayin State Security and Border Affairs Minister Colonel Min Thu Kyaw and officials, Tatmadaw and BDF officials inspected two one-storey buildings, two six-storey building eight seven-storey buildings, six 12-storey buildings, two 13-storey buildings, and two 14-storey buildings, totalling 22 buildings starting from 18 November, and seized 2,653 computers and monitors, and 21,750 mobile phones from these buildings.
A total of 11,856 foreign nationals who illegally entered Myanmar were detained from 30 January to 16 November 2025, 11,440 of whom were verified. A total of 9,978 foreign nationals have been handed over to the relevant countries under the law and procedures through Thailand. Now, it is ready to hand over the remaining 1,878 foreign nationals to the relevant countries.
