A Myanmar delegation led by Union Auditor-General Dr Khin Naing Oo attended the eighth ASEAN Supreme Audit Institutions (ASEANSAI) Summit, held in Singapore from 12 to 14 November, and returned to Yangon yesterday afternoon.
At the summit, Singapore’s Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office, Ms Indranee Rajah, delivered welcome remarks. The meeting discussed the 2025 annual progress reports of the various ASEANSAI committees, the 2026–2029 Strategic Plan; the revised ASEANSAI Statutes and Rules of Procedure, the ASEANSAI Training Framework, the confirmation and appointment of the ASEANSAI Chair and Vice-Chair for 2025-2027, the appointment of Myanmar’s Office of the Union Auditor-General as auditor to review ASEANSAI’s financial statements for 2024 and 2025, the confirmation and appointment of chairs of three committees for 2026–2027, the 2026–2027 workplans of ASEANSAI committees and the Secretariat, the approval of proposed budgets for ASEANSAI activities for 2026–2027, and discussions on reports concerning cooperation with development partners.
At the summit, Union Auditor-General Dr Khin Naing Oo expressed her delight at the appointment of the Office of the Union Auditor-General of Myanmar as ASEANSAI’s auditor. She noted that the office had experience auditing ASEANSAI’s 2013 financial statements, and affirmed that audits would be carried out in accordance with international standards applicable to supreme audit institutions. She conveyed her sincere thanks to all member supreme audit institutions for their support in the appointment.

It was attended by the auditors-general of ASEAN member states, the secretary-general and representatives of ASEANSAI, ambassadors of the respective ASEAN countries, representatives from development partner organizations, and guests.
