Esteemed people, I extend my best wishes and heartfelt prayers for the peace and prosperity of the people. I am Daw Saw Yu Mar, Chairperson of the Union Peace and Unity Party (UPUP).

Our Union Peace & Unity Party (UPUP) is a political party structured with both systematic organization and clearly defined programmatic policies. The party is committed to implementing its principles, including its motto of “Universal Basic Service” and its five core values: the right people, the right place, the right system, the right principles, and what is right for the people. We aim to build a developed nation based on democracy and a federal system in the future. To achieve this, the party is informing the public about its adopted policies and fundamental principles so that citizens are aware of our goals and planned actions.

Nowadays is the technology age. So, as AI technology is advancing, it is possible to see a strata of unemployed people throughout the world in the coming decade due to a lack of employment opportunities. Hence, our party set an objective to initiate free education, free healthcare service and free transport service as the Universal Basic Service for all citizens of the country.

Our Union Peace & Unity Party is constituted with people from all walks of life in response to the call of history, to fulfil a historical duty. The party is a public-based political party, emphasizing the national cause and upholding the national interest to develop the multiple sectors of the State.

The political policies adopted by the party are: –

We will not focus on exercising just one of four primary political policies: Liberalism, Progressivism, Conservatism, and  Nationalism, but will exercise all of these policies aligned with the situation and time, depending on nationality, language, religion, culture, customs, geographical conditions, development of the nation and actual situations without extreme actions.

When choosing between a party and an individual, one should choose the party. But when choosing between a party and the nation, one must choose the interests of the nation.

We will emphasize the strengthening of democracy as the lifeblood of the party, and we will establish the party through the collective leadership style.

We will systematically prevent the emergence of internal factions, personality cults, bureaucratic dominance, and political nepotism within the party to ensure that the party truly represents the people. The party will strictly adhere to its rules and regulations, and leadership positions will not be inherited or passed down as political legacies.

We will adopt and implement the green policies contributing to the economy of the State without harming the natural environment.

The fundamental principles of the party are:

In politics, there are no permanent enemies and no permanent friends — only permanent national interests. Therefore, concerning national cause, we will always prioritize and protect the national interests above all else.

According to the principle that “when the military sphere expands, the political sphere narrows; and when the political sphere expands, the military sphere narrows,” we will strive to strengthen political forces and broaden the role of politics.

As a principle on “One Country One Army” with the aspiration to end the internal armed conflict and ensure the restoration of durable peace, we will support the Myanmar Tatmadaw to develop and strengthen with higher capabilities.

We will work to promote a flourishing and inclusive democratic system founded on intellectuals, intelligentsia, and technocrats, carried out in a civilized and refined manner. At the same time, we will nurture and encourage the emergence of good politicians who value, respect, and uphold democratic principles and ideals.

We will focus on poverty alleviation and rural development for the people, 70 per cent of whom are rural people and part of the basic strata of people in Myanmar.

We will promote the right to freely participate in the market economy and the right to raise private ownership, while protecting the people from poverty, low education, and declining critical thinking skills. We will work in collaboration with the government, providing support and assistance to achieve these goals.

We will strive to develop multiple sectors, including agriculture and livestock activities, transport, electricity and energy, rural cooperative initiatives, labour affairs, migrant workers, SME and MSME entrepreneurs, intellectuals and intelligentsia, as well as technologists who play a key role in development undertakings of the State.

We will work to realize the voice, will, and aspirations of the people, and to ensure that every citizen has the right to personal entitlements, independent thought, beliefs, convictions, and the freedom to express and communicate them openly.

We will work to ensure that every citizen can live safely and peacefully under legal protections, without fear of violence, threats, religious extremism, ethnic radicalism, or personal attacks.

Moreover, we have considered adopting an international relations policy to ensure the safe return of Myanmar citizens to their homes from abroad.

We will implement programmes to provide food, clothing, and care for children, orphaned and displaced children, women, persons with disabilities, the elderly, the vulnerable, and those who are injured or suffering.

Drawing lessons from the past wrong events of Myanmar’s history, we will continue the implementation of our processes based on the correct events as samples.

Therefore, we urge the youth to step forward and showcase their abilities by joining “UPUP” and to recognize that only the “UPUP” party will empower women achievers. We encourage all citizens to vote for “UPUP” to help transform the future of the nation.

The Union Peace & Unity Party (UPUP) is committed to building a union based on democracy and a federal system. For the three Our Three Main National Causes — Non-disintegration of the Union, Non-disintegration of national solidarity and Perpetuation of sovereignty — every member of our party pledges to dedicate their lives without hesitation to protect, preserve, and uphold them to the very end.
