Union Minister for Transport and Communications U Mya Tun Oo, Deputy Minister U Aung Myaing, and relevant officials of Myanma Railways, inspected the test run of the train on the Gokteik Bridge in Nawnghiko in Shan State (North) on 11 November.

The bridge was exploded by the terrorists on 24 August 2025, and engineers repaired the bridge successfully.

The Union minister and party inspected the concrete sleeper factory in Hsipaw Township, and the relevant officials of Myanma Railways reported on the damage and losses of the factory, including 179 types of materials, vehicles and machinery worth K3,888.62 million due to the terrorist attacks starting from 11 November 2023. After hearing the report, the Union minister made proper instructions and observed the factory compound.

The Union minister and party then visited the Myanma Post and Telecommunication (Auto Exchange), the Department of Meteorology and Hydrology (township office), the Hsipaw Railway Station and the Myanma Post (Hsipaw office), and met the staff of affiliated departments at the Myanma Post (Hsipaw Office) and instructed them to work together among the departments, and presented foodstuffs and cash to the staff.

Similarly, the Union minister met the staff of affiliated departments at the training hall of the Road Transport Administration Department in Kyaukme to encourage them, and presented foodstuffs and cash.

After the inspection tour to Kyaukme railway station, the Union minister and party headed to the Gokteik Railway Station in Nawnghkio. They watched the test run of the train that carried 209 tonnes of load, and took the RGC from the Gokteik Railway Station to the other side of the bridge.

The Gokteik Bridge was destroyed by the terrorists on 24 August 2025 and was repaired in its original style within 76 days.

The Union minister appreciated the efforts of the Myanma Railway staff for repairing the bridge in a short period, and presented cash awards to them.
