The Myanmar Vovinam team won 14 medals: two gold, five silver, and seven bronze medals at the 8th WVVF World Vovinam Championship 2025, held in Bali, Indonesia from 1 to 8 November.

The team consisted of two coaches, three male and three female athletes, competing in 16 events. In the women’s 48-51 kilogramme category, Hnin Thet Wai won a gold medal. May Honey Aung Lwin also secured a gold and a bronze medals in the Dual Knife Form (female) and Ying Yang Sword Form (female) events respectively. Tin Htoo Zaw won a silver medal in the Dragon-Tiger Form (male) and another in the Four-Element Staff Form (male). Htein Htet Aung and Kyaw Thu Soe Aung claimed a silver medal in the Pair Knife Form (male), while Htein Htet Aung and Tin Htoo Zaw together earned two silver medals in the Pair Sword Form (male) and Pair Machete Form (male).

The team also earned seven bronze medals in various group and individual categories including the Mixed Basic Self-Defence Technique (three females and three males), Ying Yang Sword Form (male), One Female Defence Against Males with Weapons, Cross Form (male), Female Self-Defence Form, and Pair Sword Form (female).

At the conclusion of the championship on 7 November, the Myanmar team achieved an impressive total of 14 medals for the country.

The victorious team returned to Yangon yesterday morning via Singapore from Bali, where they were warmly welcomed back by Yangon Region Chief Minister U Soe Thein, regional ministers, senior officials from the Department of Sports and Physical Education, and trainees from the Institute of Sports and Physical Education (Yangon).
