Senior General Min Aung Hlaing recognized the effective efforts of Tatmadaw (Air) to achieve success in serving the assigned duties by efficiently using its aviation power resources.
A ceremony to commission aircraft and helicopters of the Tatmadaw (Air) into service at Nay Pyi Taw Airbase yesterday morning, attended by Chairman of the State Security and Peace Commission, Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing.
Speaking on the occasion, the Senior General said that currently, it can be seen that aviation power resources, including aircraft, helicopters, drones and UAVs are essential in the conflicts in the international arena as well as different conditions at home.
He pointed out that it is necessary to improve and modernize the aviation power of Myanmar to fully enjoy good results, as the country possesses significant conditions in geopolitics. As such, the short- and long-term plans are being implemented to modernize the Tatmadaw (Air) with stronger strength.
He continued that as new aircraft and helicopters have been added to the corps of Tatmadaw (Air), these strengths would contribute to the State defence and security duties served by Tatmadaw in addition to further strengthening the space control and security of Myanmar.
The Senior General noted that the commissioning ceremonies of aeroplanes and helicopters into service Tatmadaw (Air) have been held 15 times from 2011 to 2025. During the period, existing aircraft were upgraded to have better capacity.
He underlined that it is obvious that the aviation power resources depend on the advancement of technologies. Hence, Tatmadaw (Air) has to constantly assess technological development in order to always enhance its capacity.
At present, he highlighted that preparations are being made to hold a free and fair multiparty democratic general election the people aspire to in line with the improved conditions. The government elected through the upcoming election will also be entrusted with the responsibilities of the State in accordance with democratic standards.
He stressed that some internal and external organizations, dissatisfied with the outcome, are actively trying by various means to disrupt or invalidate the election. At the same time, terrorists have gradually been experiencing losses as Tatmadaw and the people combat them through collaborative efforts. To maintain control over the areas they temporarily occupied, these groups have been attacking and destroying State-owned infrastructure, homes, and private property, seizing them by force. It is therefore particularly necessary to prevent and suppress such attacks. Tatmadaw will continue its operations, seeking the support of the people, to ensure ongoing progress and stability, he noted.

He underscored that the aircraft and helicopters provided to Tatmadaw today should be valued, operated and maintained skillfully and efficiently to demonstrate that it is an air force of high capability.
He spotted that continuous study and analysis of international relations, geopolitical developments, and advances in science and technology should be conducted, so that Tatmadaw (Air) can continuously enhance its combat power effectively through dedicated effort and innovation.
Commander-in-Chief (Air) General Tun Aung reported to the Senior General on the ceremony to commission aircraft and helicopters into service.
Chief of Staff (Air) Lt-Gen Zaw Win Myint declared the commissioning of aircraft and helicopters.
General Tun Aung presented a scale model to mark the ceremony to the Senior General.
Afterwards, aircraft and helicopters demonstrated their skills. In this regard, four Mi-17 helicopters and two Eurocopters performed demonstrations in the Composite Formation, two Bell-206 helicopteres and two H-125 helicopters in the Composite Box Formation, one MTX-1B Reconnaissance aircraft, one MTX-A Reconnaissance aircraft and one Grob-120 TP training aircraft in the Trail Formation, one ATR-72 cargo plane and two Beech-1900Ds in the Composite Arrow Head Formation, four K-8 jet fighters in the Box Formation, five MiG-29 multipurpose jet fighters in the Arrow Head Formation, and three Su-30 SME multipurpose heavy jet fighters in the Arrow Head Formation, respectively.
Two Su-30 SMEs saluted the Senior General and demonstrated their skills of high-performance manoeuvre as the combat turn manoeuvre. Moreover, five MiG-29 multipurpose jet fighters demonstrated the fan brake formation.
The Senior General and party sprinkled scented water on the newly-commissioned aircraft and helicopters.
Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, his wife Daw Kyu Kyu Hla and the party visited the exhibition on the development of Tatmadaw (Air) in 15 years.
The Senior General spoke words of honour to the pilots from the skill demonstration and presented cash awards.
Also, present at the ceremony were Commission Vice-Chairman Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Commander-in-Chief (Army) Vice-Senior General Soe Win and his wife Daw Than Than Nwe, Chief of the General Staff (Army, Navy and Air) General Kyaw Swa Lin and his wife, Commander-in-Chief (Navy) Admiral Htein Win and his wife, Commander-in-Chief (Air) General Tun Aung and his wife, Union-level dignitaries and their wives, senior Tatmadaw officers from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief and their wives, Tatmadaw members of Tatmadaw (Air) and guests.
