Under the supervision of the Illegal Trade Eradication Steering Committee, efforts to combat the illicit trade are continued effectively by the law.

On 19 October, the combined teams impounded a boat (approximately K1.48 million) carrying illegal timbers and charcoal bags worth K1.720 million in Myeik, Bokpyin and Kyunsu townships, five boats (estimated value of K20.85 million) without fishing licence near Kho Island and Pidontaung island in Bokpyin Township and Meesein Island in Kyunsu Township and two unregistered motorbikes worth K3.5 million in Kawthoung and Bokpyin townships. The action was conducted under the Forest Law, the Myanmar Marine Fisheries Law and the Export/Import Law.

On 22 and 23 October, the combined on-duty teams seized illegal timbers worth K391,728 in Yedashe Township, an Isuzu truck (approximately K120 million) carrying illegal timbers in Thanbyuzayat Township, foodstuffs worth K1.074 billion in Mawlamyine Township, two unregistered motorbikes worth K6 million in Thanbyuzayat and Thaton townships, two vehicles (estimated value of K85 million) carrying foodstuffs and consumer goods worth K72.72 million without official documents along with an unregistered vehicle at the Nyaungkhashay permanent checkpoint, two suspected jade bracelets valued at K2 million without official documents at the Yangon International Airport (Warehouse) and an agricultural input worth K128.47 million without official documents from a container at the Thilawa Port. The action was taken under the Forest Law, Export/Import Law, the Forest Law and Customs procedures.

The Steering Committee reported 23 arrests on 19, 22 and 23 October, seizing illegal goods worth approximately K1.499 billion.
