Union Minister Lt-Gen Yar Pyae, who is also Chairman of the Steering Committee on the 10th Anniversary Celebration of the Nationwide Ceasefire Agreement (NCA), presided over a meeting to review the 10th NCA ceremony in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday.
Speaking at the event, the Union minister said the NCA’s 10th anniversary was organized systematically, and received 93 recommendations for politics, economy and NCA matters.
Some of them are positive advice, and the youths are also interested in peace. The good and weak points of the event will be analyzed for the coming ceremonies, and the working committees should submit accurate expenditures as per the financial procedures.
The secretary of the committee briefed that the 10th anniversary of NCA was organized with the theme “Building a Peaceful Future of Myanmar”, and also with the purpose of explaining how to carry out the work procedures for the future. The steering committee organized its four meetings, whereas two coordination meetings of working committees, four coordination meetings with NCA-signatory EAOs and also met with the moderators and speakers of the political dialogues.
The deputy ministers and officials discussed the strengths, weaknesses, and financial expenditure of the relevant working committees.
After hearing the report, the Union minister added that it needs to develop the human resources for peace, and to produce a new generation for peace and carry out the regional economic development programmes that support the peace. As the outcomes from the workshop are positive recommendations to be implemented in the new government term, the ministries concerned should work continuously as necessary.
