Authorities seized over 6.5 million stimulated tablets and over 39 kilogrammes of heroin worth over K14 billion in Kalay Township, according to the Myanmar Police Force.
A combined security team searched a Forland driven by Nyein Chan Maung (aka) Kalar Lay at 5:30 pm on 14 September. The team seized 6.52 million stimulant tablets from the vehicle.
According to the investigation, police later arrested Htoo Aung Kyaw, who was involved the drugs to be transported at 11:30 am on 19 September and got the information that Yawshu (who remained at arrest) was an offender to carry from Mongyai Township, Shan State (North) to Kalay Township.
According to the information of the drugs transportation from Mongyai Township, the combined team later seized a Forland driven by Kyaw Htay at 4:30 pm on 13 October in Kalay Township and seized the Forland driven by Kyaw Htay with 29.23 kilogrammes of heroin as well as a motorbike with Paung Shan Hauk (aka) Ko Chin who bought the seized heroin in Kalay Township at 5 pm on the same day.
Afterwards, the Police arrested the offenders who led to transport from Mongyai to Kalay, Li Lay in Kalay Township at 6 pm on the same day and Soe Myint (aka) Ka Larlay in Lashio Township at 5 pm on 16 October.
Police have charged those arrested and are continuing to investigate others suspected of involvement in the case.
