A Myanmar delegation led by Union Minister for Energy U Ko Ko Lwin visited the quality fuel plant and coal-fired power plant in Huzhou of China, yesterday.

On arrival at the fuel plant, the Union minister and party observed the construction of crude oil and finished product storage tanks, the implementation of safety and environmental protection measures, the upgrading of low-quality fuel to RON 92, RON 95, and RON 98, digital control system for the entire production processes, testing of the refined fuel in laboratories and monitoring and control processes of transport of raw materials to the factory and distribution of finished products from the Control Station.
During the tour, the Union minister discussed with the chairman of the company regarding the use of the digital system in the control system, the upgrade of the laboratory, sending of Myanmar staff to the Chinese factories, cooperation in upgrading the RON 68 of the Ministry of Energy of Myanmar and willingness to conduct occupational training courses.

The company will send a group to the Myanmar oil refinery soon to conduct a feasibility study and negotiate the bilateral cooperation.

The Myanmar delegates then visited the coal-fired power plant and studied the measures to ensure the quality and continuous supply of coal, which is the main raw material used in coal-fired power generation, and the use of advanced technologies, such as Clean Coal Technology (CCT) not to have no impact on the environment.

The Union minister stated that since Myanmar has its own coal resources, if electricity can be generated from coal, the people will be able to access electricity at more affordable prices. Myanmar is striving to meet global climate commitments like other countries. He also invited to make an investment in Myanmar, and expressed willingness to cooperate in the transfer of advanced technologies and training courses for Human Resources development.
