Following the completion of a counter-terrorism operation by the Tatmadaw (Armed Forces) to ensure peace and stability for the public and the subsequent regaining of full control over Hsipaw Township, Shan State (North), intensive and timely recovery work is being carried out. These efforts focus on restoring the government’s administrative machinery, enabling children to continue their education, reinstating public healthcare services, and undertaking general rehabilitation tasks.

To ensure that the educational sector for students in and around Hsipaw is not adversely affected, and to facilitate the smooth operation of public health services, members of the Tatmadaw, the Myanmar Police Force, the Fire Services Department, departmental staff, and residents today carried out joint cleaning and sanitation work at No 1 Basic Education High School and the People’s Hospital in Hsipaw.

Furthermore, student enrolment for school-age children commenced at No 1 Basic Education High School in Hsipaw. It is reported that 112 students have been enrolled to date. The Ministry of Education provided textbooks, stationery, and supplies free of charge to the newly enrolled students, and departmental officials addressed any other necessary arrangements.

In addition, the Department of Immigration and Population has opened a temporary branch office at the Konedaw Pariyatti Teaching Monastery in Hsipaw. They have begun operations to verify household registrations for the local ethnic people and to process citizenship scrutiny cards. Security forces are also undertaking mine-clearance operations at departmental offices and areas heavily used by the public throughout Hsipaw.
Security forces are continuing their area security and dominance duties to ensure the long-term development and stability of Hsipaw Township, allowing the local ethnic residents to resume their social and economic activities peacefully.
