The Steering Committee on the 10th Anniversary Celebration of the Nationwide Ceasefire Agreement (NCA) held its fourth coordination meeting yesterday afternoon at M Gallery Hotel in Nay Pyi Taw.

Since the signing of the NCA, its anniversary has been celebrated annually, and the upcoming 10th anniversary on 15 October 2025 will be marked in Nay Pyi Taw with grand political essence alongside a commemorative workshop.

In his remarks, Steering Committee Chairman Union Minister Lt-Gen Yar Pyae said the working committees are expected to be ready with their relevant duties, and there should be rehearsal sections by the region and state cultural dance troupes. The opening ceremony will be in the first section and the workshop in the second section. It needs to release information promptly, and the transport committee should practice to facilitate the transportation in time, whereas the relocation committee also need to practice in the hall.

Steering Committee Secretary Lt-Gen Min Naing outlined the status of preparations for the NCA 10th Anniversary Celebration, and the deputy ministers, permanent secretaries, and directors-general from various ministries discussed sector-specific tasks, while attendees offered suggestions and deliberated on necessary actions.

Steering Committee Vice-Chair Union Minister U Maung Maung Ohn discussed the timely arrivals of participants to the event, clear-cut explanations at the galleries, systematic photo displays, timely announcement by the presenter, and the need to be aware of as the event will be broadcast via livestreaming.

The NCA 10th anniversary is celebrated intending to review the achievements, successes, and lessons learned over the past ten years, and to establish Forward Action Plan for the peace process, to enable the public to better understand the NCA enhancing the trust and cooperation between the government and public, to support in drafting effective peace policies and procedures, to let the regional and international countries know the situation of the Myanmar peace processes, to explore the methods to continue implementing the peace process by the government, which will emerge after the election, in building future Myanmar by compiling the opinions and perspectives from different stakeholders and sectors.
