A combined team from the Drug Enforcement Division seized 207 kilogrammes of crystal methamphetamine (Ice) valued at approximately K1.696 billion in Tachilek Township, Shan State (East), on 4 October.

Acting on a tip-off, the combined team searched the residence of Sai Shan Twi at around 9 am, where they arrested seven suspects, including Sai Shan Twi himself. The authorities confiscated 207 kilogrammes of Ice along with four vehicles used in connection with the drug operation.

At around 10:30 am on the same day, the team searched the house of Sai Mon, identified during interrogation as the owner of the seized narcotics. However, Sai Mon escaped before the search was launched.

The arrested suspects have been charged under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Law, and further investigations are ongoing to apprehend the remaining offenders.
