TATMADAW conducted a counter-terrorism operation to ensure peaceful living, successfully regained full control of Kyaukme Township in Shan State (North), and is working closely with residents to restore government administration, rebuild the town, and provide health care services.

The Ministry of Health is working to restore health care coverage in Kyaukme Township, with health workers returning on 3 October to carry out these activities.

While the 150-bed Kyaukme General Hospital, damaged by terrorist sabotage, is being renovated, a temporary hospital is operated at Labha Muni Chinese Temple in Ward 2, Kyaukme, to provide medical services to the local population. The facility is staffed by seven health workers, led by Dr Tun Nyunt Oo, Head of the Shan State (North) Department of Public Health and Medical Services, and Dr Myo Aung, Deputy Head of the District Medical Services Department. Today, a total of 55 patients 22 men and 33 women received health care services.

The Ministry of Health is working to establish a mobile operating theatre for emergency surgeries at the temporary hospital and to provide necessary medicines, medical equipment, doctors, and health workers to deliver more effective health care services to the people of Kyaukme Township and the surrounding population.
